Where Would I Live

If I could choose where I live I would choose where I live at now, Which is Palouse hills. I couldn't stand the rain everyday it's too gloomy and depressing. Even though, I would like to have more snow because we could have snow activites like skiing and snowboarding. Also, I like living here because in the summer the snake river is a really nice place to be. Its one of my favorite places things to do. So, I would live here because I like where I live and the activities here.

The Rainshadow Effect On Our Economy

The rain-shadow effect has influenced our economy by the weather that is good for growing grapes. According to http://www.winesnw.com/wahome.html   In recent years, Washington's wine industry has become the fastest-growing agricultural sector in the state. The number of  Washington wineries has increased 400% in the last decade, attracting two million annual visitors to Washington wine country and creating a two million dollar wine-tourism industry. I took this information directly from the website listed above. Also, Our state is very beautiful and this makes it a good place to go on vacation. With all the tourist traveling here it's bound to bring some revenue our way. Eventhough, there is a down side to all this rain if there is too much events such as outdoor sports could be canceled and that would result in a loss of money. There are good and bad ways the rain-shadow effects our economy, but it could help bring more money into the state like the wineries or it could cause Washington to lose money.

The Most Important Geologic Process

The most important Geological feature that helped form Washington is glaciers I think. I feel this because it helped form the land. I believe This because when the glaciers melted it flooded the land and created geological features that make up Washington's features  For example, The Polson lobe created the channel scab lands after it blocked a river and created the Missoula lake after the lake couldn't hold any more water it burst. The Puget Lobe created the Puget Sound. The Okanogan Lobe Created the dry falls. The Palouse hills where creates by glacial tilt. Alpines glaciers are all found in mountains. These features all make up Washington's geological features.  Picture from is from Wikipedia.
